Awards and Notable Achievements

Kate has been awarded numerous Artist-in-Resident scholarships including two with the environmental nonprofit arts organization, The Entrada Institute, and a three-month residency at Pendle Hill Quaker Study, Retreat, and Conference Center in Wallingford, PA. She has also been the recipient of several individual artist grants through the Utah Division of Arts and Museums.

Kate was awarded 1st Place/Blue Ribbon in the New Tune Category, at the 2025 Appalachian Stringband Festival, Clifftop, WV. 

Kate was awarded for her song Never Looked So Good to Me Before, by the Songwriters Association of Washington DC, January, 2025. 

Kate was awarded Best of the West 2019 by the Far-West division of the International Folk Alliance Organization. She accepted the award during the October 2019 conference in Woodland Hills, CA. 

Kate's violin duet, The Great Salt Lake Visited, won the Alfred Lambourne Friends of the Great Salt Lake Award, in the "sound" category. September, 2019. Listen to the submission recording.

Kate's song, The Grand Staircase Escalante, won first prize for the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument Partner's search for a theme song. 2018

Kate was a lead singer, violinist and guitarist in the Emmy Award-winning documentary film; Red Rock Rondo, Zion Canyon Song Cycle. 

Kate has been repeatedly voted in her region by the Intermountain Acoustic Music Association as "Best Songwriter" and "Best Fiddler."
